10/21/08 - myspace platinum

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

hey,
pat and I are back in LA finishing up vocals for a couple of songs this week. i could of course be wrong, but this feels like the last push up the mountain that is our album. we’re at base camp 3, climbing up everest’s last couple of rocky faces. we’re on the 1 yard line and it’s 4th down and we’re going for it. you know, generic stuff like that. but yeah, we’re so close to being done it feels great. so does the weather here. lovely.

pat and i’s first guitar player EVER (when i was 9 and pat was 10) Graham Miller from cleveland brought a very cool thing to our attention… we have over a million plays on our myspace music player. that is insanity. thanks to everyone who keeps listening to our music and to the new people who continue to check it out. that is a very cool thing for us and will definitely keep us going this week as we finish the album. stay tuned in.

we’re almost there!

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

let’s talk time frames here folks.
this week, our crew trekked back in the studio to do ONE MORE TUNE for the record. we weren’t going to do it, but we were all so stoked on the demo for this song AND we didn’t have a whole lot going on this week soooo here we are. in the stu-stu-studio. ben just left the control room to go do a little drumming, mike just went to go get coffee, patrick is manning the helm (and nursing a cold) and i am currently writing to you. here are some pictures from today and the last couple of months… miss you, see you soon.

10/6/08 - all sorts of stuff

Monday, October 6th, 2008

monday is here and i’m watching a cooking show on peanut-oil/herb-infused friend chicken and i’m at peace right now. all of us in the meese world had an amazing weekend here in colorado. two great shows for incredible crowds. it felt great to be able to play new songs like “broadcast”, “movie screens”, and “next in line”. at the same time, it was sad to retire an old friend (”millionaire”). we laughed, we cried, we sweated, we didn’t sleep much. it was a blast. thank you thank you.

go here for the first review of the show.

also, some awesome news: we’re playing KTCL 93.3’s “Not So Silent Night” holiday show at the Ogden Theater with Fall Out Boy! we’ve always wanted to play the ogden and we’ve always wanted to play at a big KTCL show and Fall Out Boy doesn’t hurt neither. it’s gonna be dope. ALSO: very stoked to announce we’re playing with our homies Tickle Me Pink up in Ft. Collins at the Aggie!! here’s the details for both shows:

Saturday, December 6 - Denver, CO - The Ogden Theater w/ Fall Out Boy - go here for details

Saturday, December 20 - Ft. Collins, CO - The Aggie Theater w/ Tickle Me Pink - details tba

so yeah. more live meese for you coloradoians. let’s talk soon.

10/4/08 - awesomasity

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

hey.
so yesterday was such a great day i decided there need to be a blog bost about it. i’ll give you a run down. the whole crew met up pretty early and loaded up the meese-transport and headed on down to see our homies at KTCL. we hadn’t been down to see them in a while and it was great to chill with those guys. nerf is funny one. boney is the nice one. goodman is the cool one. however, all of them are genuine guys who are great at what they do. so it was fun meeting with them and planting the seeds of an attack on denver’s airwaves again…

after that, we made a quick stop at chipotle, feasted on some darling burritos and than it was BOOM straight to the oriental theater where we had our show last night. after a lengthy set period of like 5 hours or something we went to an excellent dinner with some excellent people and it was delicious. after that we had the pleasure of watching the rouge and barcelona (who both, in their own ways, killed it). then we got to play and it was fun. and we’re flattered so many of you came out. we had thought you’d forgotten allll about us. thankfully we were wrong.

we’re playing tonight in ft. collins at hodi’s half note.
if you’re in the area come on out. it’s gonna be ill.
